I received my first real estate license in 1986 in Monroe Washington. At that time, I worked for the firm Realty Plus in a small town outside of Seattle. I also partnered with my husband Greg in his residential construction company. We specialized in Custom Log and Timber Frame Homes.

My experience in real estate in the 80’s and 90’s taught me how to work hard in a down market. When I first started in real estate we didn’t have the advantage of the internet. Our business came mainly from word-of-mouth referrals. Integrity, tenacity, creativity and great communication skills were an agent’s greatest assets. Greg and I relocated to Northern Idaho in 1992 and opened Legacy Construction, specializing in upper-end custom homes. As a partner, I gained experience in residential construction estimating, construction specifications, as well as land development.

My experience in the construction industry has given me a great advantage in today’s real estate market. Bonner County dismantled its building inspection department several years ago and the quality of construction in our area can be very questionable. Having familiarity in construction from the ground up, I am able to discern between quality construction and construction that might appear to be good on the surface, but problematic in the long run.

We have had the opportunity to build for many clients on varied terrain. This experience has taught me to be able to see the possibilities when developing a parcel of land. The ability to ‘site’ a house properly, recognize the sun’s affect on a home, and familiarity with Idaho soil types all play a part in being able to give sound advice to clients seeking to buy property. I regularly deal with the many and varied government entities it takes to give someone permission to develop a piece of property and am able to act as a spokesperson to guide my clients through the maze of constantly changing land use regulations.

Although I have lived in Idaho for 15 years and have chosen a rural lifestyle in the small town of Clark Fork, I am originally a Native New Yorker with a 9 year stay in the Seattle area. I have been married for 24 years to the love of my life, and we have been very blessed to have had the privilege of raising three grown sons, Johnathan, Justin and Ethan. I grew up in a family with seven girls and one boy, so adjusting to a male majority household was quite a feat!

Arriving from an East Coast City of totally controlled growth to a West Coast City that was unprepared for the immense population explosion that was about to happen has made an indelible impression about how I would like to influence the area I now call home. Being a Realtor gives me the opportunity to be a voice for wisely developing the surrounding areas that I have the privilege to be part of, by helping my clients do the same.

I look forward to meeting you!
