So many years ago, long before children my wife and I would come to Sandpoint to ski Schweitzer. As we would head back home to Pullman, Washington after many wonderful weekend trips we dreamed about someday living here. That dream came true years later when I was offered a position with First Security Bank, so Dana and I and our two young sons packed up and moved to Sandpoint.
After a few years with First Security, I accepted a position as manager of First Federal Savings and Loan of Coeur d’ Alene managing the Sandpoint branch. Some years later I was offered a position at Sandpoint Title Insurance and in January of 1999 Dana and I purchased STI. For 20 years we operated the company as our family business until June of 2019 when we decided it was time to sell. After a few months It became clear to me that I was not yet ready to be retired. My entire working career has been in the real estate industry. A Realtor in my home town of Clarkston, Washington, a real estate lender during my banking years; appraising during the time that I had an interest in an appraisal company in Moscow, Idaho and finally insuring real property during my years at Sandpoint Title. It now seems natural that real estate sales in the community that is our home was an obvious final step.
Sandpoint is a very special place. No matter how far one travels, the drive back across the Long Bridge always leaves one with a feeling of being home. Our roots are deep now in this community. There have been a great number of people that have contributed to our success in this town and it is my hope that I can now be one of those that help others live their dreams as they decide to invest in this wonderful part of the planet.
